Hi Rim Renegades Hosts 2009 Car Show

Last year's "People's Choice" carThe 8th annual 3 Rivers Cruise in was held on July 11th we had 84 registered entries. If the comments I heard throughout the day were any indication it was a huge success. As always we had a lot of hard working volunteers. I would like to thank all the volunteers both High Rim Renegade members and some folks that just came with their cars and saw we needed help and just got in and went to work, it was unbelievable. I would especially like to thank those folks that headed up each committee. Larry and Jan Lolley and Linda Kentner got the food. Brian Brophy and crew made sure everything was cooked just right. Randy Petzel and Carla Ehlers got the raffle prizes. Randy and Bambi Jensen sold raffle and 50/50 tickets while giving out the prizes inside the Rec. Hall. Meanwhile our resident street walkers Peggy Beason and Patty Simmons sold tickets outside. Roy Allister and his crew made sure everyone got parked without any accidents. Gary Sweet and Debbie Fitzpatrick handled the registration. All the while Billy Ray did a great job as MC with Jon Ehlers taking over to present the trophies. (That’s about normal Billy worked all day and Jon came in just in time to make people happy). Thanks to Peggy and Sherry Gullings all the ballots were counted. Marlene Sweet and Pat McCartney sold a lot of the Tee shirts that Marty Martin designed and ordered.(By the way we still have shirts for sale at the front gate)Don Rosenthal taught me how to put up the signs all the way out to highway 97 so people could find us. I know I am forgetting someone and for that I am sorry.

I would also like to thank everyone that donated to our raffle prize drawing. Larry Penrod donated $100. Kentner welding donated a box of fire starters. Gerry and Mary Logue donated a goody basket. Carolynne Wilson won the 50/50 drawing and then donated part of it back to the club.

In addition Julie at the Chinook store donated a lot of ice. We also received ice from the 3R Marina store.

With this kind of response this event will only continue to grow. Thanks again for all the help. Sincerely Roy Petzel.
